In Defense of Brussels Sprouts

When I ask people if they like Brussels sprouts the answer I receive is rarely, shall we say, less than enthusiastic. When it comes to these small green powerhouses, people are rarely undecided. Often, I am answer with a definitive "no," followed by a look of disgust at my even suggestive these miniature cabbages of terror. However, after further inquiry, I find that most people have either A) not had them in a very long time, B) never prepared the sprouts themselves, or C) can't actually recall the last time they had them.

It’s November and the stores are already reminding us that the Holidays start sooner and sooner every year. Which, let’s be honest, is bad enough in itself without adding the fact that surveys have found that people gain SEVEN to TEN pounds from Thanksgiving to Christmas. SEVEN TO TEN POUNDS!  Um, what?!?!  That’s like a 6’ aluminum step ladder, a medium sized bowling ball… or a newborn baby! I mean, we’ve all heard talk about the “food baby,” bet you didn’t realize that’s literally what the holidays can do to people… But not you, not this year.  The “survey of "people" won’t be you.

Pumpkin-Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

So after a week of amazing pumpkin recipes, I know there would be one or two of you beating down my door if I failed to include my pumpkin-pecan chocolate chip cookie recipe. Yes. It's that good. 

These cookies are obnoxiously addicting- so be careful! I recommend only making them when you have somewhere to take them, or someone to send them home with! After all, you know how I feel about treats.  You should totally eat them... but in moderation. These babies are hard to moderate! (Basically what I'm saying is... um YUM!)
